Chloraka and Kissonerga are two small villages situated in the southwest of Cyprus, approximately 10 miles north of Paphos town, on the way to Coral Bay.  This attractive area is surrounded by a number of pomegranate and banana plantations.  However, since joining the EU the thriving banana plantations are longer profitable for farmers; as the bananas produced are not eligible for export due to not fitting EU criteria.

The two villages both have their own village church, Panagia Chryseleousa in Chloraka and the Church of the Transfiguration in Kissonerga; and offer a small selection of amenities such as a bank, restaurants, tavernas and a few shops

North of Kissonerga a rare and extraordinary settlement has been discovered and is under excavation.  The settlement is believed to be of Chalcolithic culture which was present in the Paphos area 3500 to 2500 BC.  Numerous artefacts have been uncovered such as early pottery and a clay figurine of a powerful fertility goddess who was worshiped during this period of time.

The area of Chloraka and Kissonerga offers a combination of physical natural beauty and cultural discovery.
