Ministry of Communications and Works is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective services in telecommunications, postal services, road safety, modernized buildings, airports and ports and the promotion of our culture and heritage.

Departments

Department of Antiquities: The aim of this department includes al factors pertaining to antiques and the use of ancient monuments and archaeological museums for educational and cultural purposes and for the development of cultural tourism.

Department of Public Works: their objects include: making the movement of citizens in the road network comfortable and safe, to ensure that the citizen receives decent conditions in public buildings, to contribute to the revival of social environment, in agreement with the natural environment.

Department of Merchant Shipping: this department deals with every thing concerning merchant shipping.

Department of Electronic Communications: this department has control over the Radio communications Laws, provisions of the Radio and Television Stations and representation of the Government in international and regional telecommunications

Department of Electrical and Mechanical Services: this department is responsible for the preparation, design, completing and maintenance of all governmental electrical and mechanical projects.

Department of Road Transport: are involved with problems in public transport, aiming at improving the services offered to the public and includes activities relating to vehicles, their registration, their inspection and the issue and renewal of driving licenses and circulation fees.

Department of Civil Aviation: is responsible for the regulation of Air Traffic services and the control towers at the airports and all factors pertaining to air control.

Department of Postal Services: is responsible for the operation and provision of postal services as well as for the efficient distribution and delivery of postal items both in urban and rural areas of Cyprus.
