CYPRUS VILLAS FOR RENT - HOLIDAY VILLA IN CYPRUS.
THE BEST SOURCE FOR CYPRUS HOLIDAY VILLAS
Most walking tours in Cyprus take place in Autumn, Winter and Spring, due to the sizzling Summer sun. The benefit of this is that fewer visitors come to Cyprus during these months, so the trails are not thriving. There are two classic, full day treks.
Akamas
Discover and study how today's landscape and environment has been effected by past geological events, for example how agriculture has been affected by ancient sea level changes. Visit Cape Lara, one of the last nesting grounds in the Mediterranean of the Green and Loggerhead Turtles. Learn how tourism has affected the area, both positively an negatively. Head towards the staggeringly beautiful Avagas Gorge for a 4 km walk between the impressive, towering limestone walls, and observe the giant fruit bats, reptiles, stream flora and erosion processes that have shaped this landscape.
Troodos
Take a winding, scenic drive up to the Troodos Mountains. Visit the informative Troodos Visitor Centre, where you will learn all about the history and wildlife of the Troodos, through a short video and museum. Continue the drive up to Mount Olympus, the highest point in Cyprus where you will partake in a 7km circular trek around the summit. Take in the rare herbs, ancient Venetian walls, soaring birds of prey, and the Black and Brutia Pine, in this area. At a height of almost 2 km above sea level, one can imagine the stunning views from this that are to be enjoyed from this area as well. The second trail of the day is up to the spectacular Caledonia Falls. The 5km route takes you up along a stream bed to the impressive waterfall.
