The Paphos Bird and Animal Park is unique to the area, and an enjoyable day out for those of all ages.  The park was initially set up with the aim of educating the local community about the importance of caring and conserving both bird and animal life.

It houses a wide range of animals, ranging from reptiles (such as Boa Constrictors, Pythons and Iguanas), to mammals (such as Giraffe); and birds, ranging from ducks, geese and swans, to Ostriches, parrots and owls. 

The park also offers a variety of other facilities.  The Amphitheatre, which holds 350 visitors, was created in order to hold educational talks and programs on various wildlife found in the park, and to show wildlife documentaries and daily Parrott and Owl shows.  There is both a souvenir shop and a handicraft shop, where it is possible to experience the making of traditional rugs by a rare and traditional weaving machine.  The traditional Cypriot restaurant which can be found on site, boasts the most panoramic views in the surrounding area. 

For children, it is possible to get close with species of bunny rabbit, Guinea pig, chicks and goats, in the Children's farm. The park also houses a veterinary clinic, to treat and nurse the sick animals in the park; and has set up a sponsorship scheme in the form of adoption opportunities to help towards conservation and protection of their endangered species.
